Below you'll find a complete listing of our services and rates.

Air Cargo Surface Cargo Local Trucking In Budapest

Air Cargo:

Air cargo is the preferred method of shipping for anything from small items up to 10 cubic meters. For the shipping of paintings and furniture it is important to know the dimensions of the crate in which the objects will travel since furniture and paintings are light enough that they are charged according to thus amount of space they displace and not by their true weight.

We offer the rate of $950/cubic meter, including $180/cubic meter for crating, for air cargo to major American airports. Our minimum charge is $450. Please consult us on rates to other destinations.

All air cargo rates include local (Budapest) pickup and storage until export preparations have been made. They also include export (out of Hungary) customs clearance.

Customers can choose to pick up their shipment at the airport or order door to door delivery. Door to door delivery tends to add around 350-400 USD to the delivery cost as it includes customs clearance and trucking to the door.

Insurance is 2% of the items` value for all-risks.

Museum permits are required for antiques older than hundred years and for paintings and other visual arts if their artist is no longer alive. We organize museum permits at the cost of 120 USD plus the fees the museum charges, which are between 2-4% of the value of the item.

We offer storage at our guarded, alarm-protected, insured warehouse at the rate of 10 USD per square meter of floor-space per week. We only charge warehousing if we are asked to store objects beyond the point at which we have made all packing and paperwork preparations and could ship the cargo.

Surface cargo:

Surface cargo is the preferred method of moving large amounts of artwork and furniture. We offer surface cargo in 20 and 40 foot sea containers to any port destination. This service generally appeals to dealers who would like to move large amounts of furniture and art economically. For those who want to send less than a container's worth at a more economic rate than air cargo, we also offer surface cargo by the cubic meter to any major destination at the rate of $550/m3 (with the first cubic meter costing $800).

Container shipping fee includes truck, rail and ship transport to the consigned freight forwarder. Prices tend to be 3,000-3,500 USD for a 20 foot container and 3,900-4,500 USD for a 40 foot container for shipments to North American ports. Please contact us about rates to other ports

Our "Container Stage Managing Fee" includes local pickup, three weeks free storage, organization of all museum permits (excluding fees paid to the museum), export (out of Hungary) customs clearance and general supervision of the whole process. The fee is 1,700 USD for a 20 foot, 2,300 USD for a 40 foot container.

Packaging depends on how things are wrapped. We generally use a combination of silk paper, corrugated paper and bubble wrap for things without glass, and crates for things with glass, as well as for porcelain, metalwork, and stonework. Basic wrapping is $600 per 20' container, or $1200 for a 40'. Crating is charged at $180/cubic meter of crating.

Museum permits are required for antiques older than hundred years and for paintings and other visual arts if their artist is no longer alive. The cost of organizing museum permits is included in the "Container Stage Managing Fee" but fees are charged separately at costs between 2-4% of the value of the item.

Insurance is 3% of the items` value for all-risks or 1% for total loss.

We offer storage at our guarded, alarm-protected, insured warehouse at the rate of 10 USD per square meter of floor-space per week. We only charge warehousing if we are asked to store objects beyond the point at which we have made all packing and paperwork preparations and could ship the cargo.
